Evening Primrose – the Women’s herb.
Evening Primrose in one of my staple medicinals. When most women my age reach for the Midol, I reach for the Evening Primrose. My garden is full of random rosettes; as she springs up in all the nooks and crannies of dry poor soil, offering herself for my taking. She is a gift from the Earth to all women.
Evening Primrose is not just for PMS woes, although that is her speciality. She calms hot flashes, soothes frayed nerves, softens irritability, relieves stress. I truly believe she has something to offer every single woman, regardless of age. Personally, I use her before and during my time of month- to calm my symptom of the month, ease my period, relax my cramps. Evening Primrose is also packed with healthy benefits, one of the main plants I teach about in my Nutritional Herbalism Workshops.
