Description

This is the perfect herbal insomnia treatment.  It was originally created for a friend after we exhausted all other remedies, and his lack of sleep was effecting his safety at work.  This tincture is a very potent remedy, made from the best sleep inducing herbs available.  It is non-narcotic, but contains Valerian root which has been rumored to be habit-forming.  I have not had that experience with Valerian, but I do know that all sleep aids by nature are “habit-forming” (who DOESN’T enjoy a good sleep!).  Either way, be conscious of its effects and responsibly discontinue if you are uncomfortable with how you feel.  Try the other sleep remedies I have available including the teas, lotions, and baths.

For insomniacs:  Take 1-3 droppersful (1-3ml), diluted in a small amount of tea or water, 3 hours before bedtime.  If needed repeat 1 hour before bedtime.  Start with a low dose to evaluate tolerance and lasting effect in the morning.

Includes:  Organic homegrown Valerian root, Organic homegrown passionflower, Organic wild harvested wild lettuce, organic homegrown Hops, Organic cane grain alcohol.

Medical actions within each plant:

Valerian Root (Valeriana officinalis) – sedative, hypnotic, anti-spasmodic, hypotensive, carminative.

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) – sedative, hypnotic, anti-spasmodic.

Wild Lettuce (Lactuca virosa) – sedative, hypnotic.- OPIOD-LIKE plant.  MAY test positive on a drug screen.

Hops (Humulus lupulus) – sedative, hypnotic, antiseptic, astringent.

ADDITIONAL HELP:  I’m sure you have heard/read all of this before…

Stay away from caffeine after noon (it has a half-life that will last well into the night, even if you don’t notice it)- this includes some herbal tea, iced tea, coffee, energy drinks, & chocolate.  Also avoid sugars after 6pm.  Take a walk after supper, this speeds digestion and relaxes the mind.  Read a book instead of watching tv or using the computer.  Use your bed ONLY for sleeping!  Take a hot shower/bath with natural aromas (some that work best for relaxing are Lavender, Lemon Grass, and Chamomile-also avoid stimulating aromas).   Avoid stress or excitement before bed.  Turn off all sound and all lights.  Meditate!!
