Did you know that medicinal plants are valued for their nutritional value as well?!  Similar to the way blueberries fight cancer and contain vitamin-C… medicinal plants are all made up of fibers, minerals, acids, vitamins etc too! Get the scoop on how to up your magnesium intake, what plants to consume for superior Vitamin K, what “weeds” are growing locally to add to our salads or smoothies, and many others!

Plant Walk:: Spruce Bluff Preserve

Come join me SUNDAY in sacred Spruce Bluff Preserve in Port St Lucie, Florida. This location is the location of both a Indian burrial mound AND a pioneer cemetary. It sits on the St. Lucie River and contains varioius ecosystems full of medicinal plants! The endemic (only growing in Florida) Sky Blue Lupine (^pic above!) is blooming ON TOP of the Indian burrial ground right now, with an Ospray and her nest guarding overhead…. it is truly a spiritual experience! $10/person, children are welcome (I don’t know the rules about pets at this park, but I don’t mind!!) Bring a camera, bottle of water, and notepad!


Medicinal Plant Walk

Come down February 7th at 9am to walk through one of our gorgeous preserves and discover the medicinal plants growing around us!  $10/person, children free.  Bring your camera, notebook, and a bottle of water.  Meet at trail head at Maggy’s Hammock Park (formerly Rocky Point Hammock Park) 3854 SE Kubin Ave Port Salerno Florida

Winter Flow Jam

Come out to the FREE event at A Green Life Cafe and Marketplace to celebrate the Winter Solstice.  I will be there enjoying like-minded people, answering questions about plants/remedies and guiding customers to appropriate herbal remedies.  Plus there will be fire spinning.  How could you NOT go?!?!

IMO: Essential Oils

Goodnight Moon butter was thought up as the trend of Essential Oils continues to rise.  I was told by a friend that my sons sleepless nights would be FIXED if I applied Lavender Essential Oil to the soles of his feet.  Now I do love Essential Oils, but this is completely out of control (like every new trend).  Essential Oils can sometimes be dangerous; if ingested, given to infants, misused.  For the most part they are safe, however unfortunately, they are just a small fraction of the healing capabilities of that plant!
